Culinary Vacations in Provence
Tour 2   Wine and cooking tour in Provence
Day  1  monday
In your Hotel, situated very close to Avignon and Gordes, you will feel at home, you will be able to go for a nice walk and discover the unique light and atmosphere in the heart of Provence.
Day  2  tuesday
Your afternoon will be free to relax by the pool at the hotel, or have a walk in the countryside.
For dinner we will take
you to a fabulous
restaurant in Avignon.

Complete menu with a selection of local wines.
Day 6  saturday

We will take you back to the train station or airport for a tearfull goodbye, hoping you have spent an unforgettable time with us.

 

 

 

We will meet at 3pm for a unique dessert assortment. We will visit a very fine pastry shop in Cassis where the Chef will make a short explanation of his tricks for us and prepare a sweet tasting of some of his specialities.

After this sweet break, on our way to Cap Canaille, from where you have a view of the whole bay, we will have a "Cassis wine" tasting in a cellar.
Day 5  friday
This morning, after a full breakfast at the hotel, we will visit some villages of the Luberon, made famous by Peter Mayle's
A year in Provence.
We will first visit the village of Gordes, from where you can see a fantastic view of the Luberon.

Lunch will be at your expense in a local french "bistrot".

Day 3  wednesday
Day 4  thursday





Transfer from the Avignon fast train TGV station, recommended, or from the Avignon airport to your Hotel, where we will have a welcome drink while we talk about the tour.
Then you will have a welcome dinner prepared by our chef Pierre at the Hotel, with some wines of the region.
Today, after a complete breakfast at the hotel, we will take you to Cassis, a magnificient village on the coast, near Marseille. We will leave you on your own to visit the famous "calanques of Cassis" by boat, or just walk around the port of this fishermen's village.
Lunch will be at your expense in the village. The speciality here is a fish soup called "bouillabaisse", served with Cassis white wines.
We will then go back to the hotel for a rest while Chef Pierre will have us prepared a light dinner with wines of the area.
Afterwords we will go to Avignon where you will be free to visit the city, its "Palais des Papes", and the famous "pont d'Avignon".
At 12h00 we will have our lunch on what has been cooked. Complete menu with wines. Pierre will have lunch with us.
Dinner will be at your expense. We can recommend good places.
Then we will take you back to the hotel.
After a complete breakfast at the hotel,  you will meet Chef Pierre for your first cooking lesson. He will introduce you to the Provence produce and recepies.
Day 4  thursday
After a complete breakfast at the hotel, we will go to a nearby market in a village where you will meet up with Chef Pierre, with whom we will choose the ingredients for your second cooking lesson. Then, of course, we will have a complete menu of what has been cooked with wines.
It is the most renowned appellation of the southern part of the Rhône Valley. We will visit some vineyards and have a wine tasting, and then visit a closeby chocolate factory.
After the wine and chocolate tasting, we will go for dinner in a friendly local restaurant of Chateauneuf. Complete menu with wines.
Its name derives from a castle built by the Popes when they ruled from Avignon.
After a rest we will go to Châteauneuf du Pape, a town and commune in the Vaucluse.
